Dear Members and Friends:
The Southampton Business & Professional Association will meet Tuesday, May
24th at 11:45 a.m. followed by our noon luncheon meeting at
Davisville Church located at 325 Street Road in Southampton with “Catering by
George.” Cost for the catered lunch is $11.00, however, if reservations are
made, a discount of one dollar will be given. The management must have our head
count by Monday. We, therefore, MUST RECEIVE YOUR RESPONSE BY FRIDAY, May
20th, 2005. Please cooperate with this request and R.S.V.P. early to 215
322-1715.
SPEAKER - In May we will have Bucks County Sheriff Edward “Duke” Donnelly
as our speaker.
In June our speaker will be Patricia Walker, Executive Editor of The Bucks
County Courier Times and a Southampton resident.
GOLF OUTING - The George Lynch Memorial Golf Outing to be held on
Thursday, May 19th at 11 a.m. at Northampton Country Club is fast approaching.
Everything is set – all plans are made – all that’s necessary is your
attendance. If you haven’t already signed to play or wish to sponsor a hole,
please contact Bonnie Halbreiner ASAP @ 215 441-1452. Any business planning to
donate prizes for this event please call Tom Turnbach @ 215 953-8127. We look
forward to a great day. Please join us.
BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE – Our Business Card Exchange is scheduled to be
held on June 6th from 5 to 7 p.m at Premier Bank, 736 Street Road, Southampton.
Our theme is to contact other area businesses who are non members and invite
them as guests. Any business interested in offering prizes for the Business Card
Exchange kindly contact Nancy Franey @ 215 322-5400.
TAMANEND FLEA MARKET – Friends of Tamanend are once again featuring a
flea market Saturday May 14th, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pavilion Field at
Tamanend Park. Spaces are $10.00, no tables provided. Refreshments available at
the park. Contact Andy Pickford at 215 499-0983 if you have any interest.
THEATER NEWS - The John O. Danenberger Foundation will be presenting the
Village Players of Hatboro performing in the comedy show “Are You Being Served”
It will be held on June 9th, 7:30 p.m at 401 Jefferson Avenue in Warminster.
Tickets are $10.00. Proceeds provide scholarships to graduating high school
seniors who reside in Southampton. If you are interested and need tickets,

SOUTHAMPTON DAYS – Coming up very shortly will be our celebration of the
4th of July. Our Annual Spaghetti Night Dinner will be held Wednesday, July 6th.
Let’s have all our members come and support this event. For the balance of the
week we will have our usual food booth with pork roll and sausage cooked to
perfection. Remember for all these events to come to pass, we must have
VOLUNTEERS. At our May meeting, we will discuss Southampton Days with the
objective of establishing two team captains for each night. Volunteer sign up
sheets will be circulated at our luncheon meeting. Please be prepared to give us
some help.
FLEA MARKET – Mark your calendar. Our Annual Flea Market will be held
once again on Oscar Huber's ground on Sunday, October 16th. We will keep you
posted as we get additional information.
MYRON BEANS – Myron Beans who passed away April 14th in Spring House Estate
of Lower Gwynedd will be remembered for outstanding service to our community and
organization. He served as treasurer for many years. A decorated veteran of
World War II, he was active in many service clubs in the area and a fine
gentlemen. He will be missed.
