July 15, 2005
Dear Members and Friends:
The Southampton Business & Professional Association will meet Tuesday, July 26th
at 11:45 a.m. followed by our noon luncheon meeting at Davisville Church located
at 325 Street Road in Southampton with “Catering by George.”
****
Until further notice we will be meeting at the Activity Center which is the
building located in the back of the same parking lot.
Cost for the catered lunch is $11.00, however, if reservations are made, a
discount of one dollar will be given. The management must have our head count by
Monday. We, therefore, MUST RECEIVE YOUR RESPONSE
BY FRIDAY, July 22nd, 2005. Please cooperate with this request and R.S.V.P.
early to 215 322-1715.
SPEAKER – Our July speaker will be Southampton Police Chief David C.
Schultz. We will also have a 3 minute speaker Gerry Bram a Southampton resident
who will speak regarding defibrillators that are distributed to businesses by a
non-profit organization.
GEORGE LYNCH MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING. – We will be presenting checks to the
beneficiaries of our successful golf outing at our July luncheon. The recipients
will be the Southampton Fire Dept., Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad, the Southampton
Police Dept. and the John O. Danenberger Foundation.
SOUTHAMPTON DAYS – 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION – Congratulations everyone. We
all pitched in, worked hard all week, despite some inclement weather and lived
to tell about it. Spaghetti Night was a total sell out. A financial report will
be given at our luncheon. As always, a big thanks to all our volunteers as well
as our food suppliers. A list of all helpers is attached. If we have overlooked
anyone, kindly submit your name to us. Thank you everyone for your support.
REPUBLICAN CHILI COOK-OFF – Our President, Gerry Bowen came in third. The
results have been appealed. Status is pending. – Stay tuned…..
BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE – We’re planning a repeat in the Fall – more
details to follow.
FINANCIAL REPORT - Our President, Gerry Bowen along with our Treasurer
Sharon Prim will be giving our Annual Financial Report at the July meeting.
FLEA MARKET – Once again we are making plans for our Annual Flea Market
which will be held on Oscar Huber's grounds on Sunday, October 16th. This event
will be chaired by Susan Schneider and Shirlee Schumann. We need your help. If
you plan on volunteering, please contact either chairman.
LOOKING AHEAD – In August we will be having a breakfast meeting rather
than a meeting at lunch time. It will be held in the same facility only at 7:30
a.m. Our famous caterer “George” has promised a great menu of scrambled eggs,
bacon, sausage, omelets, home fries, Belgian waffles, toast, coffee and cake.
Sound good? Sounds great to me! Mark your calendar.
Please call for luncheon reservations. See you on the 26th.
