June 15th, 2005
Dear Members and Friends:
The Southampton Business & Professional Association will meet Tuesday, June 28th
at 11:45 a.m. followed by our noon luncheon meeting at Davisville Church located
at 325 Street Road in Southampton with “Catering by George.”
****
Until further notice we will be meeting at the Activity Center which is the
building located in the back of the same parking lot.
Cost for the catered lunch is $11.00, however, if reservations are made, a
discount of one dollar will be given. The management must have our head count by
Monday. We, therefore, MUST RECEIVE YOUR RESPONSE BY FRIDAY, June 24th, 2005.
Please cooperate with this request and R.S.V.P. early to 215 322-1715.
SPEAKER – Our June speaker will be Patricia Walker, Executive Editor of
The Bucks County Courier Times and a Southampton resident.
AWARDS – The recipients of our John O. Dannenberger Scholarship Awards
will be presented at our June luncheon.
GOLF OUTING - The George Lynch Memorial Golf Outing was held on Thursday,
May 19th at Northampton Country Club. We had a picture perfect day, weather
wise, plus the help of our many members and friends, adding up to a great day.
The final figures will be announced at our luncheon meeting. Thank you everyone
for your support. A good time was had by all.
BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE – Premier Bank was the host of our successful June
6th Business Card Exchange. We’re planning a repeat in the fall so stay tuned
for details.
THEATER NEWS - The John O. Danenberger Foundation presented the Village
Players of Hatboro performing in the comedy show “Are You Being Served” on June
9th. It was a sellout, thanks to the hard work of John Held and his many
helpers. The proceeds provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors who
reside in Southampton. Thank you for your support.
SOUTHAMPTON DAYS – Once again it’s time to celebrate our independence.
Summer is here and with it is our famous Southampton Days, July 4th and of
course, Spaghetti Night. Our annual dinner will be held Wednesday, July 7 th
rain or shine. Let’s have all our members come and support this event. That
night and all other nights we will be having our usual menu of delicious pork
roll and savory sausage plus nachos and cold drinks served at our booth. Please
come and help us welcome the holiday. Participate as a volunteer or a customer.
Come join the fun.
SET UP DAYS – Anyone available to help us set up our booth, (move
supplies, etc.) on Sunday, July 3rd, at 10 a.m., just come over to 749 Cherry
Lane. At 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, July 9th we will meet at the fair to close up
shop and clear the area. Please come and help.
VOLUNTEERS – In order for all our activities to succeed, we need you –
volunteers – to be part of the package that allows the Business Card Exchange,
the Golf Tournament, Southampton Days, the Flea Market, Holiday Lights, etc. to
reach fruition. At this point let us say “Thank You” to everyone who offers, and
has offered their time enabling us to reach our goals and have successful fund
raisers. We do appreciate it!!!!
FLAG HOLDERS – We are in need of several people (no one under the age of
10) who would like to participate in our 4th of July Parade and carry our
banner. Anyone interested, please contact Ron Schumann @ 215 357-5609. Marchers
will receive a T-shirt and our thanks.
FRIENDS OF TAMANEND - They are having their annual picnic on Friday June
24th from 6 p.m. on at the Farmhouse. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided.
Please bring a side dish or dessert. RSVP by June 20th to Gail Beer 215 355-5010
TAKE A BREAK – In August we have decided to invite you to join us for
breakfast as opposed to a luncheon meeting. We will meet at the Davisville
Church at the Activity Center. The time is set for 7:30 a.m. More details next
month.
FLEA MARKET – Mark your calendar. Our Annual Flea Market will be held
once again on Oscar Huber's ground on Sunday, October 16th. We will keep you
posted as we get additional information.
Please call for luncheon reservations. See you on the 28th.
